DST is upon us.

One more week and the most hated weekend of the year will arrive. Oh, how I will miss that hour of sleep. Especially since it might not be saving any energy. But we will all adjust and hopefully none of you will show up an hour late to anything.

I really wanted to finish one more short story before I returned to working on the novel but I am having a hard time finishing the story I'm working on. I like the beginning and the middle. I like the end. I've had the end in mind from the very start. But getting from the middle to the end is troublesome. I have thought of several different ways to do it but none of them work for me after a day or so. I am stuck for the moment. Would it be easier to finish if I actually sat down and devoted some time to it? Of course it would. Of course it would. While we're talking about it, why don't you devote some time to ironing your socks? That's what I thought. I'll get to it when I get to it. Besides, I know my writing muse is going to show up any day now with an enormous guilt trip and then I'll have to finish or I will wind up huddled in a corner staring at jagged pieces of gray and black construction paper.

For those of you who have been bored to tears with the Econ posts (an overwhelming majority), do not worry. I promise that you will not see another Econ post on this blog. For the small minority that cared, you can find more at a new blog called This I Keep on Doing.

I leave you with this:

At my uncle's house

Christmas dinner was in Waxahachie, TX this year. Alison, my mom, my aunt and uncle ate turkey and played a game of Joker. My aunt and uncle own a ji-normus travel trailer. This trailer is sheltered by a building covered with sheet metal. The travel trailer shares its off duty lodgings with a large tree. My uncle cut a hole in the roof of the building so the tree could stay. I found myself thinking of some lyrics in the song Animate by Rush:

A secret face, a touch of grace
A man must learn to give a little space
A peaceful state, a submissive trait
A man must learn to gently dominate
